Overview
Within Craft's OJL Tracker, an evaluator is responsible for monitoring and supporting a learner as they progress through their program. This may include evaluating submitted activities, reviewing time entries, or completing skills observations, depending on how your program is structured.
Programs in Craft may use one or more of the following:
- Activity-based evaluations (with or without rubrics)
- Time tracking
- Skills observations
Your responsibilities will vary depending on your program’s setup, but all evaluators play a key role in supporting learner progress and ensuring accurate reporting.

Supporting Your Learner in Craft
Depending on your program, you may interact with learner progress in several ways:
Evaluating Activities
If your program includes activities, learners will submit work for review. As an evaluator, you may:
- Review submissions
- Provide feedback (if applicable)
- Score learners with a rubric
- Approve or return activities
For step-by-step instructions, please see: Approve and Return Activities.
Reviewing and Approving Time
If your program tracks time, learners may log hours spent on job-embedded learning. As an evaluator, you may:
- Review submitted time entries
- Approve or return entries
- Adjust time if needed
For more information, see: Evaluator: Approving Time.
Completing Skills Observations
Some programs include tracking skills observations to document learner progress. In these cases, you may be responsible for:
- Recording observations of learner performance
- Marking skills as competent or not competent
- Providing feedback based on observed competence
For more information, see: Evaluator: Understanding Skills Observation Tracking.

FAQ
How does Craft help the learners I supervise?
A: Craft allows learners to track their progress, document their work, and receive feedback. This helps ensure they are meeting program requirements and building a record of their experience.
What if my program doesn’t use activities?
A: Some programs rely on time tracking or skills observations instead of activities. In these cases, your role may focus more on reviewing time or documenting observations rather than evaluating submissions.
Who should I contact with questions?
A: For technical issues → Craft Support. For program-specific questions → Your program administrator
